The Building Department is responsible for the issuance of permits and inspections for building, concrete, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and signs; zoning enforcement and reviewing site plans.
You must obtain a building permit before beginning any new construction or making any structural alterations.
Application for a permit must be accompanied by complete plans and specifications for construction, including a sketch. Contact the Village of Ortonville Building Department for site plan review and approval prior to submitting plans for permit issuance. Some common activities that require a permit include: building a deck, replacing a furnace or water heater, installing central air or installing a swimming pool.
